Quilting Heals the sole!
Last Week I helped a dear friend finish her first quilt! A flip flop Quilt! ! She came over to check out my Long Arm..She said she wanted to quilt it, at first I thought , Yea! ok, once you see this thing, you will change your mind! (Sorry Laura for doubting you!)
So we put a practice piece on.. she played a little. She said she didn't know if she could do it, she is perfectionist! I told her, I used to be one, but becoming a longarm quilter, has changed that.. I have learned not everything is perfect, you have to just let go!!!!
Laura did a great job meandering on her quilt! She actually was getting into it pretty well, and then didn't want to stop! Could she be the next long arm quilter in the Pinetop, Arizona area!! Maybe!!
I had a Great time with Laura, then on Friday she came over, we went to lunch at the Olive Mill in Queen Creek. YUMM! and then she had a lesson on putting on binding! I love it when I get to help a new quilter! Thanks Laura for trusting me to help you! Come back anytime!!! I will miss you at work! But I am looking forward to your new quilting projects to come! Work, Who needs work!!!
Laura and I used some great quilting time to help heal our sole's.. See, Laura is a NNP(neonatal nurse practitioner), and all the NNP's were laid off last week! I have worked with these wonderful women for a very long time! Some longer than others! We all work closely together to care for our tiny patients! Our preemie and sick newborns! I will miss all of my wonderful NNP friends! I will miss working closely with them in good times and bad! Our Babies will miss their expertise, and I know that the Doctors will too! As a long-time Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, I have trusted the NNP's for consultations and their guidance in caring for our tiny babies! Thanks for the partnership!
Our Nurses will miss you! So QUILT, QUILT, QUILT, it really does heal the sole!

Can't Sleep!
It's January 17, early am ! Got up at 3am ,couldn't sleep! Those darn Allergy meds!
I've been quilting like crazy the past week! Trying to get all of my customer quilts done! Only 2 to go, well 3 really, still taking out a row on one :(
Debbie from Elk Horn quilt co, has made a great quilt with the new Amy Butler Love!
She also made a really nice quilt from a Joel Dewberry line! She has some great fabrics in her online shop http://www.elkhornquilts.com/ Check her out!
Yesterday, I quilted a quilt for a customer! It turned out great! Then spent the remainder of the day cutting out all the bedding for our New Grandbaby Maddie, due here in May! Mommy Carissa picked out some great fabrics, Lady Bugs is the theme! Do you know how hard it is to find Ladybug fabric! I think this will be a very cute baby room! Going to the Tuscon Quilt show next week with friends, and to help Debbie out in her booth! So of course, I had to get everything cut before going! That takes so long, and the least fun of quilting!
I hope I get it all done, quilt, bumpers, and skirt! Wish me luck!
My Friend Debbie R, as we call her, has trusted me in picking out and kitting a quilt for her. She wants black, white and red.. So I called Debbie D., from Elkhorn, and we did it! We will use Mark Lipinski line, in black and white and red for the pattern Fire Escape! May have to do one for myself! Lucky girl who will get this quilt!
Keep Quilting and Creating! Sandy
