Hope all of you had a great Christmas! We did.. Our son came over with his new family, and our daughter joined us as well, we had a late breakfast, and then we all opened out gifts! I am so spoiled! My husband got me a tv for the kitchen! Maybe I won't have to listen to football while I cook or craft! All my gifts were great! but the best was having my family here, all together! That is better than anything!
Today our grandchildren came from PA. We had a great time, Bryan and Carissa brought breakfast, we ate and opened gifts! The kids spent most of the time outside in the "warm" sunshine. They are pale as ghost again, their beautiful tans from the the summer are all gone!
Oh well, summer will be here soon, and then they will spend a couple of months working on their tans, while swimming in Grammie's pool! Sydney loved it outside so much, we had a hard time getting her to come in. Jessie, the pug, loved having them here, she was outside with all the kids! Our grandchildren are growing up! Does that mean we are getting OLD!
Here's to a wonderful New Year! See ya after the first! Sandy

I am sitting here thinking how quickly our lives are flying by! You know your getting older when that starts to happen!!
Christmas is just around the corner, I am quilting away on some great quilts! I will post them soon. My brain is working overtime, I want to make something special for all my friends and family, but where will I get the time!?
We had a great Thanksgiving! We had our first Breakfast at night dinner on the eve, and we all wore Jammies! How fun that was! I will post a couple of pics!
Well I hope everyone is on the road to creating something wonderful for all those special people in your life!
Until we chat again, Happy Crafting!

OOPS! It,s been awhile!
Well, it looks like I have completely neglected my space!! I've been busy, not sure why that would be an excuse, but I'll use it! My gammill was down for a couple of weeks, kinda stressful, as I had a beautiful red, black, and white log cabin on. It turned out great! Sorry no picture!
Just got back from Payson, Arizona. There was a small, and I mean small quilt show, that my good friend Elkhorn Quilt Co. was vending at. Sharon Schamber and Christie were there. Sharon held classes in her studio and her daughter manned to booth! She is so sweet and due to have a new little bundle soon! A new Grand-baby for Sharon what a nice Christmas gift!
Of course, I forgot my camera, I sometimes think I am loosing my mind! I sure hope not!
We stayed at our GREAT friend, Chris's "cabin" it's really a very beautiful custom home. So we sewed, sewed and sewed! Nine pillow cases for my family! Merry Christmas! Started a Black, red, and white quilt, only started, because the" Professional bag", that Chris and I just had to make, took 14 hours, from start to finish! But they looked great when we finished.
I will post pics later! Have a wonderful pre-Thanksgiving weekend!

Off to Quilt!
Yea! Finally a long weekend to sew with great friends! Chris, Debbie and I are off to Payson to sew and quilt! It is bag making time for me, as my daughter needs a new gift for her student teacher! I really should change my name to the Bag Lady!!
I will post a few of the great things that we complete, although Chris will be the winner of completed tops! She usually has about 5 completed tops done by the time we leave on Sunday morning!
Our husbands have been gone for 2 weeks, hunting the BIG Elk!! So far no one has gotten one!! So we will still not see them until Sunday, because, not much gets in the way of our sew time!!! Hoping all of you have a great weekend!

Spooky!
Birthday Cake!
Birthday Cake anyone? It was my close friend, Chris L. birthday, and so I had to give her something special! I found this cute pattern for a Cake pincushion! Aren't they cute.. They are called "Baby Cakes" by Cindy Taylor Oates! I loved them so much I made one for myself and one for Debbie (Elkhorn Quilts).
Then this past week I made a new Pincushion and garbage bag to use beside my new sewing machine. Yes, I said new sewing machine, that will teach my husband to go away for so long!! HA HA .. It turned out really cute. This pattern is by Abby Lane Quilts called "The Abby Bag". I will post the pics next time! Still have to download them!
Yes, I have been doing a little Long Arm Quilting. Finished one and put another one on. I will show the pics when I get them downloaded, still looking to buy some extra time! Anyone have any for sale!!!
Keep on doing the things you love! Life is too short, not too!
Friend are the Family that We Choose!
Sorry it has been so long since my last blog entry! Things have been crazy! As usual I have placed too many things on my plate!! Mike is gone hunting for 2 weeks, one week has past, so I have been busy sewing, quilting, and helping friends with new projects!
Our Dear friend Chris was here for the long holiday weekend, so we had what she calls "Sandy's Sewing School". It was a lot of fun, very relaxed and healing. You see, Our dear friend and her fiance' Steve past away in January. It was horrific for all of us to loose him, there is not a day goes by that I don't think about him. Chris is still dealing with her loss, and so we talked about Steve and all the wonderful things he did.
He past away in "Pig Camp", that is what the men in our lives did every January, they packed up the toy haulers with all their precious hunting gear, great food, and prepared for making more great MEMORIES!! Except this time the memories will not be so great! Mike and Steve had been friends since they were little boys. Mike said he cannot recall not knowing Steve. So his last memories of Steve are one of doing cpr and trying to save his dear friend's life.
So Chris, Mike and I drove to "pig camp" to see the memorial that a group of us placed in his honor! I hope it helped her in some small way, to know that he was an important part of our family, and will be missed dearly!
I saw a sign that read" Friends are the Family that we Choose" This is how we felt about Steve and Kathy! Kathy was Steve's wife, she past way a few years ago, way too soon! And that is how I feel about all of my dear Friends! You are the Family that I choose! I am grateful to have all of you in my life. Thank you for having me in yours!

Quilting for Elkhorn Quilt Co.
August 31, 2009
Ok! so today I have decided to be more active about blogging!
Last week I did a couple of quilts for my great friend at Elkhorn Quilt Co.
and then to top off the week, my sewing group got together and we made an Amy Buttler bag!
(well, I completed mine, they are still working on theirs)
I will put a picture of the bag and the quilts on as soon as I download them.
Hope you all like them!
Thanks Debbie and Chris for coming over! Lunch was great at The Deli.

Good Morning!
I am here in Sandy, Utah. I am here to help my friend Debbie with her booth at the Home Machine Quilting show! We are having a great time. Check out her websit http://www.elkhornquilts.com/
It is very ispiring to see all the quilters come together! I always get up before Debbie, so I thought I would start a blog. Might be a great way to pass the time.
I am getting inspired to start branching out with the Longarm. I want to do feathers and other great fillers like all the great quilter's do!
I think I can, I think I can!
Does anyone have any time for sale! There just doesn't seem to be enough of it these days!
I have found some great items to help me organize my new home for the gammill, here at the show. Guess I will have to spend a little cash!
We will be moving it down stairs to make room for our grandchildren! Jake and Sydney will be visiting us every summer for about 9 weeks. We are looking forward to it! But, they need their own room, so the gammill has to go!! Down stairs, that is
This blogging thing is new to me.. I guess it can be like a journal.. I plan to share some of my quiting photos with all of you.
I live in Gilbert, Arizona, so if you need any quilting done give me a call or contact me at grammiefish@msn.com
I will end for now. Hope the show is a great one for Elkhorn!
